Tuesday, December 29, 1998 - Day 1

We drove up from Boca Raton the night before, leaving after dinner at 6:30 and arriving at WDW by 9:10.  
Even though it's more money, I prefer to take the Florida Turnpike all the way, rather than I-95, switching 
over to the turnpike at Ft.  Myers, because there's less traffic on the turnpike. And don't take the turnpike 
all the way to I-4, it brings you in above WDW, at I-4's exit 31.  Instead, get off at exit 249, which is 
the Osceola Parkway.  It's a $1.00 toll and takes you right into Animal Kingdom and lower WDW.        

We first went to MGM to turn in our vouchers and get our Annual Passes.  We were still wearing our 
shorts, since Boca Raton was 20 degrees warmer and were chilly riding in the open shuttle from the 
parking lot.  Next, we headed to All Star Music to check-in.  When I got to the counter, the CM asked 
me if I'd like to stay at Coronado Springs at the same rate.  I jumped at the chance.  We drove over 
to Coronado Springs and checked in, getting room 6313 in the Ranchero section.  The room layout is 
a lot like All Star, but larger.  We grabbed a quick snack at the Pepper Market before turning in 
for the night.
