Saturday, December 25, 1999 - Day 4

It was another lazy morning. It made sense to enjoy it while we could, because next week, we would be looking back to the time in Hilton Head with longing. At noon, Seth and I headed over to the pool for the Murgies Mulligan Golf Tournament. It was especially cold today, around 40 degrees, but the wind made it even feel colder. Because of that, I was surprised that so many families showed up to play. Dwayne was the CM running the tournament. We had seen him earlier in the day. He really caught you eye, since he had on the Santa hat with the Goofy ears. By the time we started, there were eight families. The girls showed up as were were about to start and we coerced them into joining our "team." We had a tough start, but were one of three families that hung in for the end and pulled into second place.

After golf, we went back to the room for lunch. Elana and Sara decided to meander to Live Oak Lodge to play pool. I walked over to Broadcreek Mercantile to return Flubber. I ran into Dwayne, who was going around delivering the prizes, certificates from the tournament, and found out that the girls had been there before me and got our prize (which was a WDW 2000 key chain.) So I went on to look for them at Live Oak Lodge and met up with Judy and Seth.

While sitting there, some families came through during the Jingle Bell Run Around, which was some sort of scavenger hunt. Two women and two teenage boys were setting up a picture by the fireplace, using the decoys from the basket on the floor. I offered to take the picture for them, so that they could all be in the photo. At that point, one of the women asked me if I was Sandy, to which I obviously replies, "yes." It was Sue Holland (WDW1972). They continued on their scavenger hunt and we stayed in Big Murgies den for awhile. Sue, her friend, Sheila, Chris and Colin came back, but we had to leave shortly thereafter to catch a 4:00 showing of Stuart Little at the movie theater in Sea Pines.

After the movie, we went to the Hilton Head Diner for dinner. It was mobbed, since so many restaurants were closed on Christmas Day. We were told that the wait would be 30 minutes, but it was more like 70 minutes. While waiting, we got to talking to two families who were travelling together from East Brunswick, NJ. What was funny was that one of the kids recognized me from Metrostars games! Of all the paces to run into a fellow Metrostars fan.

We went back to the room and watched James and the Giant Peach, then turned in for the night.
