Saturday, July 1, 2000 - Day 4

Today was Animal Kingdom.  We got another early start and headed on over.  First thing I did when we got into Safari Village was to check out the pin station.  I bought the July 4th Animal Kingdom pin and found out that there was a pin signing event scheduled for today.

We first went over to Kali River Rapids.  We always seem to sit where we get the worst of the water. I got soaked!  Then we went back to Safari Village for It's Tough To be  A Bug and afterwards to Festival of the Lion King. The theater was only about three quarters full this time.

We went back to get on line for the pin signing, which was already out the door of Disney Outfitters   While I waited, the kids went over to Dinosaur!  I got into a conversation with some people standing on line.  One couple was a mixed marriage - she worked for Disney and he for Universal.  I bought some more pins to get signed by Jeff Ebersohl, who was the guest artist.

Seth and I left at 4:00pm to head over to Tampa for a Metrostars game versus the Tampa Mutiny.  I've traveled to many away games, but this was the farthest we've been for an away game.  It was nice to be able to combine my two passions, Disney and soccer.  It took us an hour to get there and I ran into Steve McKibbon and his family.  Steve is a long time Sammer from Florida.  We got seats behind the Metros bench and the Metros beat Tampa Bay 2-0.
