Friday, January 1, 1999 - Day 4
I set the alarm for 9, but woke up at 8:15. I showered before waking everyone else up. We were hoping to get to EPCOT for a little before heading to Sanford, but everyone had to shower and we had
to eat breakfast, so there was no way. We ate at Olivia's, then came back to the room so the girls could shower. Seth and I rented one of the four person canopy boats for a half hour. I've always wanted
to do this and now that I got a little taste, will plan do take one out for a longer period in June. At the speed these boats go, a half hour isn't long enough. We came back to the room, packed the car
and were on the road to Sanford, and home by 12:45.
Wrap Up
Never having been to WDW the Christmas week, I didn't know what to expect. Even though all four parks reached capacity on New Year's Eve, I didn't find it too overwhelming. The only time I was really
aware of how crowded it was was when we had to wade through the crowd exiting the park after the fireworks. But, we didn't run into too many unbearable lines and got to do most of what we set out to do, with the
exception of Spaceship Earth, Universe Of Energy and Fantasmic. As far as next year, well as someone pointed out to me, once the park reaches capacity, they close it and since I saw it at capacity this
year, I know what to expect. Also, since we were only there two days, we felt more rushed to do everything and didn't take our midday break for fear of not getting back into the park. So, I was quite exhausted
by the time it was all over. Next year we hope to hit Hilton Head on the way down so I can build up my
energy reserve.
